Terms and Conditions
Academic Year 2026 – 2027 · Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms summarise the conditions on which Kaah International Academy ("the Academy") admits and teaches students, and the terms for using this website. They are drawn from the Academy's Home and School Partnership, Code of Conduct, and Examination Registration, Rules and Regulations for 2026 – 2027, which are read together with the School Rules for Students and the Child Protection, Safeguarding and Children's Rights Policy. Copies of all of these are available from the office. Where these terms and one of those documents differ, the full document applies.
1. Admission
- Applications are welcomed throughout the year, subject to the availability of places.
- To apply, request an application form from the office (or submit the online form), provide the student's previous school records and birth certificate, attend a short placement assessment and a meeting with the administration, then confirm placement and complete registration.
- Submitting the online form is an application only; a place is confirmed when registration is complete.
- Parents and guardians must give accurate information, sign the Home and School Partnership acknowledgement, read the School Rules for Students with their child, and sign the parent declaration in the Code of Conduct.
2. School fees
- Fees are payable by the date the Academy announces for each term.
- Where fees fall behind, the Academy will contact you before taking any step that affects your child's place or examination entry.
- Examination fees are separate from school fees (see section 9).
3. The school day and attendance
The Academy runs three sessions from Saturday to Wednesday; Thursday and Friday are the weekend.
- KG 1 – KG 3 and Grade 1: 7:30 am – 11:50 am
- Grade 2 and Grade 3: 7:40 am – 11:50 am
- Grade 4 – Grade 8: 1:20 pm – 5:15 pm
- Year 9 – Year 11 (IGCSE): 7:30 am – 2:50 pm
On Saturday and Wednesday, KG to Grade 3 assembly begins at 7:20 am, so please have your child at school by 7:15 am. Absence without a proper explanation is not accepted: tell the class teacher when your child will be absent, and help your child catch up on the lessons missed. The Academy monitors repeated absence and lateness and may contact you about it.
4. Uniform and appearance
Students come to school every day neat and in the proper school uniform, including the correct games kit on P.E. days; please label uniform. The Academy is an Islamic institution: students are expected to be decent in dress and character, girls wear the head scarf, nails are kept trimmed, and boys keep their hair short.
5. Student conduct
Students are expected to respect teachers, staff and fellow students, attend regularly and on time, complete homework, bring the required materials, follow instructions and take care of school property. Students must not engage in fighting, bullying, threats, harassment, theft, vandalism, cheating, abusive language, possession of prohibited items, leaving school without permission, or disrupting lessons.
- Mobile phones: students may not use mobile phones or electronic devices at school unless the Academy authorises it for an educational or emergency purpose.
- Academic honesty: students must do their own work. Copying, plagiarism and cheating may lead to disciplinary action.
- Damage: where a student damages school property or another person's property, the cost of repair or replacement may be charged to the parent.
6. Discipline
Discipline at the Academy is fair, proportionate and aimed at correcting behaviour. It may include a verbal or written warning, a parent meeting, a behaviour improvement plan or a temporary restriction from activities. The Academy never uses corporal punishment, humiliation or degrading treatment. Where behaviour is a serious or repeated problem, parents are asked to come in and discuss it before any significant step is taken.
7. Arrival and collection
- Please do not accompany your child to the classroom; teachers collect their classes from the yard.
- Children are collected from reception. Everyone collecting a child on foot or by private vehicle must identify themselves and sign the child's exit sheet. No child is released to anyone who has not signed.
- A driver engaged by a parent must first be registered with the Academy, leave a copy of a valid driving licence and identity document, and sign the Driver Rules and Declaration.
- Collection windows: morning session 11:50 am – 12:15 pm; IGCSE 2:50 pm – 3:15 pm; afternoon session 5:15 pm – 5:40 pm.
8. Health and safety
- If your child is hurt, first aid is given, the incident is recorded, and the office informs you the same day. If an injury is more than minor or your child is taken ill, your child is taken to a medical facility and you are telephoned at once on your emergency number.
- Tell the Academy in writing about any allergy, chronic condition, medication or dietary requirement, and when it changes.
- Visitors report to reception, sign the visitors' book, wear a badge and are accompanied while students are present. Visitors may not photograph or film students.
9. Examinations
- A student may be registered for an external examination only when officially enrolled, academically eligible, and when all documents and the examination fee have been received before the announced deadline. Late registration may not be accepted, and the Academy cannot extend an examination board's deadline.
- Parents are responsible for the accuracy of registration details, and should keep proof of payment.
- Candidates must arrive at least 30 minutes early, bring the required identification, and must not bring mobile phones, smart watches, notes or other unauthorised items.
- Malpractice may lead to removal from the examination room, cancellation of a paper or result, disciplinary action and a report to the examination board. The candidate and parent are told in writing what is alleged and may respond before the Academy imposes its own penalty.
- A missed examination cannot always be rescheduled. Results are released through the official channels the Academy communicates, and the Academy will not alter, guarantee or influence results.
10. Communication and concerns
Meetings with teachers are by appointment, made through the office, so that classes are never left unsupervised. Questions about teaching go to the Academic Head; behaviour and welfare to the Student Affairs Officer; and fees, transport and administration to the office and then the Principal. A concern about a child's safety should be brought to the Child Protection and Safeguarding Focal Person; a concern that an adult at the school has harmed a student goes to the Principal, or to the Chair of the Board of Directors if it concerns the Principal. Parents are asked to raise concerns through these routes, communicate respectfully, and protect the privacy of other students and families.
